Our Story

A family in the making.

We're Marcus and Laura Pittman. We were married in 2018 and have made our home in Moscow, Idaho, with a sweet, gentle dog named Tilly who genuinely believes every child is her best friend.

From the very beginning of our marriage, we knew we wanted to grow a family. We've spent these years prayerfully discerning the path God had for us — and after much prayer and reflection, we believe it's time to stop postponing what we've been called to do and begin the process of adoption.

“The love we have for our future child is stronger than our pride.” Marcus & Laura

Early in our marriage, we briefly became foster parents and cared for a newborn. The time was short, but it left a quiet, lasting space in our home — a space we long to fill again, this time more permanently. Laura has spent years pouring into the children of our church community, holding babies during services and being one of the first calls when a mother needs a hand. Marcus has spent the last decade advocating for the lives of children through film and ministry.

Now we feel God's call to grow our own family — to welcome a child into the home we've built and the community that has been praying for them long before we have met.

Marcus

husband · founder · film-maker

Marcus is the CEO of a Christian technology and film startup. Before that, he created two pro-life films — Babies Are Murdered Here and Babies Are Still Murdered Here — that helped spark a movement, and went on to help launch Apologia Studios and End Abortion Now alongside Jeff Durbin in Phoenix. He's been fighting for the lives of babies since the early 2010s.

Laura

wife · homemaker · always-on aunt

Laura works from home for an insurance company, but her real second job is the dozens of children in our church community who consider her a safe pair of hands. She is the first person many mothers call when they need an emergency babysitter, and she has been known to step in for weeks at a time when a family is walking through something hard. On Sunday mornings she rarely makes it into the sanctuary without a child on her hip.

Where we are

Ready, and waiting hopefully.

Home study approved

April 2025

We are fully home-study certified — ready and prepared if a call comes in about a baby or a child.

Foster-care licensed

March 2026

Licensed again here in Idaho, so every possible avenue toward our future child is open.

Seeking a match

Currently

We're pursuing an independent adoption — open to a baby or a young sibling group. Trusting God's timing.

Will you keep your eyes open for us?

Many independent adoptions begin through personal connections — friends, family, coworkers, unexpected conversations. If you know someone who is pregnant and considering adoption, now or in the future, please think of us.

Our Journey

Every step has been a gift.

Hopeful

We currently have an approved home study and are foster-care licensed in Idaho. Our hearts remain open to a baby or a young sibling group — and we are continuing to trust God's timing.

We currently have an approved home study, which means if we were to get a call about a baby or child, we are ready and prepared on that front. In March, we also became foster-care licensed again here in Idaho because we wanted to make sure we had every possible avenue open. We have primarily been pursuing an independent adoption route while still keeping other doors open through foster care and our approved home study. Our hearts remain open to a baby, but we are also open to a young sibling group if that's where the Lord leads. More than anything, we would love for people to simply keep their eyes and ears open. If you know someone who is pregnant and considering adoption — now or in the future — we would be incredibly grateful if you thought of us or shared our names.

Great news — home study complete

We've officially completed our home study and are home study certified. This is a huge step forward, and it brings us closer to welcoming a child into our home.

Since December, we've had several calls about potential adoptions. Although they did not pan out, each one reminded us how important it was to get our home study completed and be ready when the right situation does arise. We knew we needed to clear this hurdle, and now we're excited to share that we've officially completed our home study and are home study certified. We're filled with hope and anticipation for what's ahead, and we can't wait to grow our family through adoption.

Home study application submitted

Today we submitted our application and deposit to begin the home study process with a certified local adoption professional.

Today we submitted our application and deposited to start the home study process. We found a certified adoption professional who is local. We are praying the process is quick. We have a few things to do to get our home ready but don't anticipate any problems. We are overwhelmed with gratitude for your love, prayers, and support throughout our adoption journey.

The first goal — $20K met

Thanks to a generous anonymous donor, we have raised enough to actually begin the adoption process. With our initial goal met, we can move forward toward a home study.

Major personal life announcement. Thanks to an anonymous donor to our adoption fundraiser, we have raised enough to actually begin the adoption process with agencies. We much prefer a private adoption. With our initial goal being met, we are able to work on completing a home study. We are open to adopting one child or a young sibling group. We still have money to raise because the process is long and expensive — $20K gets us off to the races but nowhere near the finish line.

Almost to $15K

God is so good — we've raised nearly $15,000 toward our goal. We're prayerfully looking at adoption agencies inside and outside of Idaho.

We have almost raised $15,000. We still have puzzle pieces available for anyone who donates over $42. We're working towards setting up a home study in the near future. We have had a few conversations with people we attend church with who have adopted and some have spent approximately $30K and others almost $80K. There aren't a lot of adoption agencies in Idaho so we have started to look at agencies outside of Idaho. We would love to adopt an infant but are also open to a young sibling group.

A puzzle piece tradition

From now on, in celebration of Laura's 42nd birthday, every gift over $42 adds your name to a puzzle piece we'll hang in our child's room.

Thank you so much for getting us this far. We're only $6,500 away from being able to formally start the adoption process. From now on, in celebration of Laura's 42nd birthday, if you give over $42 we will add your name to a puzzle piece. We will hang the completed picture in the child's room. We can't wait to begin this journey.

Already at 20%

The adoption process is often long. Already in each step of the way God has been faithful — and in just a few weeks we have reached 20% of our goal.

We're adopting — a journey that's been years in the making, and we couldn't be more thrilled to be walking down this road together. The adoption process is often long. It seems like there are a thousand steps to take. But already in each step of the way God has been faithful. Thanks for your prayers. Thanks for your support. We're amazed that in less than a few weeks we have already reached 20% of our goal.

The journey begins

Thank you for a great first day — we raised $1,200. We know we have a long way to go, but what a blessing it was to launch with such a great response.

Thank you so much for a great first day. We raised $1,200. We know we have a long way to go but what a blessing it was to launch with such a great response. It really encourages us and motivates us to continue to step out in faith. We praise the Lord for every single donation.

How you can help

Three ways to walk with us.

Pray

Prayer has carried us through every twist of this journey. We'd be grateful if you'd lift up these requests with us:

Share

Many independent adoptions begin through a single conversation. If you know an expectant mother considering adoption — or someone who might — please think of us and pass our names along.

Give

Independent and agency adoptions cost between $30,000 and $80,000+. Every gift moves us closer to bringing our child home.
